Penticton School of Dance is one of BC’s leading dance studios offering classes in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, highland, hip hop, breakdance, popping & locking, song & dance and ballroom dance to students of all ages. We offer both competitive & recreational programs as well as ballet & highland dance exams each season. Penticton School of Dance operates out of one of the largest dance facilities in the province of British Columbia and we strive to continue to provide fun, challenging & rewarding dance experiences throughout the year to all of our dedicated students. Celebrating our 30th anniversary in 2008, we invite you to experience what Penticton School of Dance has to offer!

Congratulations! Penticton School of Dance would like to congratulate our very own Jacklin Vloedbeld who has recently been accepted into the National Ballet of Canada’s 3-year teacher training program in Toronto, Ontario.  We would also like to congratulate Nadya Corscadden, Carissa Gowe & Alexandra Fraser for each recently winning a $500 dance scholarship to be used towards dance training in L.A. or New York which was awarded at the Penticton Invitational Fun Dance Festival in May 2008.  Scholarship recipients are selected (solely) by the competition’s guest adjudicator and we would like to thank “Be Discovered” for their scholarship donations this season.

Summer Dance!
Penticton School of Dance is very excited to, once again, be offering summer dance camps, summer intensives and summer bootcamps throughout the months of July & August of this year.  Please visit our “Summer Dance” page for more information on these exciting programs!

Thank you! Penticton School of Dance would like to thank all of its faculty, its students and wonderful parent volunteers for helping make our recital performances a success each year.  Without your help we could not put on the shows that we do so thank you sincerely from Penticton School of Dance.

Performance Teams! After a busy season of rehearsals & performances throughout the community this past season Penticton School of Dance is so happy to announce that our Jr. & Sr. performance teams were a huge success in our first season together and we are now excited to be expanding our teams to start working on large-scale production numbers for the upcoming 2008/09 competitive season.  Performance team members are determined by invitation only and dancers are selected based on positive attitude, strong commitment to rehearsals & training throughout the year and all performance team dancers must be team players who contribute fairly towards our productions.  Invitations will be mailed out this summer and dancers receiving an invitation must respond before September 1st, 2008.  Check out our “Performance Teams” page for updates throughout the season.

After completing another successful season of dance based around our recital theme titled “Dancing Through The Decades” featuring songs from the times that we all loved, Penticton School of Dance will now be working towards entertaining all audiences alike with our 2009 showcase theme celebrating the “Classics of Film & TV”.   Our faculty of dedicated instructors is already anxious to get started on what is set to be the studio’s best season yet as we step foot into our 30th successful season in the community of Penticton.  Join our school now and be a part of this landmark anniversary, which will be filled with fun and enjoyment throughout the 2008/09 season!

Giving Back! Penticton School of Dance is privileged to be a sponsor of World Vision where, each month, we financially support an under-privileged child in need of care & attention.  Through World Vision Penticton School of Dance is honored to be sponsoring a young boy named Julio Cesar who was born on March 18/98 and whose mother & father do not earn enough money to support their own family.  We hope that our support will give Julio & his family the necessities that they need to live healthy lives and we urge other members of our community to give back and sponsor a child through World Vision as well.

Miss Penticton School of Dance! For the first time in our history (and after years of having students involved in the program) Penticton School of Dance is so excited to be an official sponsor of the “Miss Penticton” program this season. Our 2008 Miss Penticton School of Dance candidate is Catherine Beaumier-Martin and Catherine (along with her entire family) has given years of dedication to our dance studio for as long as she can remember.  Catherine is an extremely talented musician as well as a great role model.  She is highly respected amongst her peers and Penticton School of Dance could not be more proud of our 2008 candidate.  Take a minute to view our “Gallery” page to see other Penticton School of Dance students who have been candidates in the Miss Penticton program over the years.

Studio Improvements! Penticton School of Dance is constantly improving & upgrading our facilities as we grow into one of the leading dance studios in the province of BC.  Next season, dancers can look forward to studio lockers (available for rent) to leave your dance shoes & accessories at the studio year-round, upgraded flooring in our ballet studios, e-newsletters to eliminate paperwork and lost notices, new line of 30th anniversary studio clothing, more community involvement and performances throughout the year and so much more!  Leading the way year after year Penticton School of Dance wants to be YOUR home studio!

Lost & Found! Penticton School of Dance has a lost & found bin in our common room by the kitchen so please check for any misplaced items frequently as all unclaimed items are donated to the Salvation Army every 2-3 months.  Penticton School of Dance highly recommends that all dancers put their name (or initials) in all of their dance shoes and costume pieces so that items can be easily identified once they are turned in.
